M100 Concrete (B7.5)

An economical concrete grade for preparatory work, blinding and leveling layers

M100 (class B7.5) is a concrete grade intended for the lightest loads. Its main role is not to act as a load-bearing structure but to create a preparatory layer: it is the most common choice for a leveling blinding layer under foundations, a sub-floor preparation layer and curb bedding.

Where is M100 concrete used?

M100 is used for non-load-bearing work: a leveling blinding layer under foundations, a sub-floor preparation layer, curb bedding and light landscaping pours. For load-bearing foundations and walls, at least M250–M300 is recommended.

How much does M100 concrete cost?

What does B7.5 concrete mean?

B7.5 is the strength class of the M100 grade and means resistance to a pressure of 7.5 MPa. M (grade) and B (class) are two different designations of the same concrete.

Why is M100 poured under foundations?

The blinding layer evens out the bottom of the excavation, protects the reinforcement from the soil and allows the main foundation to be poured to exact dimensions. Since this layer is not load-bearing, M100 is sufficient — using a higher grade is simply an extra expense.
